There are many things that are going on in the world right now that have many people worried. There are countless terrorist attacks, diseases, and numerous natural disasters. There are even many unnatural disasters caused by mankind not taking care of the planet God has given us. This has caused many believers and unbelievers alike to be fearful of tomorrow. Fear over the world’s grief can cause much anxiety and stress. One may begin to wonder, “What am I going to do if a tragedy happens to me or my family?!” This is a reasonable question. I am not going to say that one shouldn’t have a plan of action for potential unforeseen events. However, fear of the unknown is where the devil would love for you to live. You can not plan for every single horrific event.
Here’s the reality, we live in a fallen world. I hate to be blunt but death on this earth is inevitable. There is nothing we can do to stop it. The only thing that we can try to do is postpone it. Even with trying to postpone it, our heartbeats are still in God’s hands anyway. Jesus prophesied all of these things would happen.
Matthew 24: 3-14 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Instead of allowing the things that are going on to stress you out, my suggestion would be to pray for our world. Pray that God may use these situations to draw people close to himself. We must stand strong. Do not fear the things of this world. Know that God has a plan and seek his guidance. A person cannot make rational decisions if they are ruled by their fear. So pray for wisdom and ignite the peace that surpasses human understanding that God has given you. In this dark world never forget that if you have accepted Christ there is a lion that lives inside of you.
THE FACE THAT LIES
We live in a world where you have to have thick skin. One where you are looked down upon for showing your emotions. Where people will potentially take advantage of you if you allow yourself to be vulnerable. Sometimes it seems that the only acceptable emotion is to walk around with a chip on your shoulder. It is a defense mechanism. As a child growing up I used to smile in my pictures and my male peers asked me why I smiled for the camera? They expressed to me that smiling in pictures made you come off weak. They said that men are supposed to "mean mug in pictures" (look tough). For years I continued this way of thinking. It wasn't until I found Christ that I realized how amazing it was to smile (ironically enough I am not smiling in this newsletter picture lol)
On the other hand there are other people who put on a smile to look tough, though they are suffering from anxiety or depression. No matter if you wear a smile or a mean mug the issue here isn't your facial expression. The question is are you dealing with this emotion that you are hiding? You can fool the world but you can't fool God. Although the world may laugh at your pain, you don't have to hide it from Jesus. He knows every issue that you are dealing with. He knows how stressful life can be. And he wants you to be transparent with him. He also wants you to seek Biblical counsel and find people who can speak truth and love into your life and into your situations. He doesn't want you to have to walk through life dealing with problems alone. This doesn't mean tell every problem to every person, but make sure you have a few in your close circle who can give you advice in a loving way.
JAMES 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
1 PETER 5:7 Cast all of your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest."
ARE YOU PURPOSEFULLY PURSUING YOUR PURPOSE?
Everyone has a purpose in life, everyone. Many search long and hard to find their purpose. Although what we are searching for is hidden inside our hearts, if we have accepted Jesus Christ. So many are wondering, if they should become a missionary or do Christian music, or write a book etc. Many of us are so concerned with trying to figure out where we fit in in The Kingdom that we forget to celebrate the fact that, WE BELONG TO A KINGDOM!!!
Time is Money....No It's more than money
In my opinion, other than love and salvation, time is the most valuable thing on the face of this Earth. It is more valuable than money. If you spend all of your time trying to make money you will be wasting your time. Ironically, if you do not have any money you will never have time. Ideally, I think that a person should try to make the most amount of money in the least amount of time (legally of course). I'm not saying that you should chase money or money should be your god. I am saying that you should pray for the ability to have financial freedom.
When you have financial freedom you have more time to do the things on this Earth that matter the most. You have more time to minster, worship and spend time with family and friends.
I feel that time can be considered a form of currency. It is no coincidence that you 'spend' and 'waste' both time and money. When you give someone your time it is often more precious to a person than buying them a gift and spending no time with them. Ask anyone who's parent isn't around and only shows up once a year on Christmas with hands full of gifts. Most people would rather have there parent engaged in their everyday life rather than any gift.
Make sure that you are using your time wisely. The devil knows just how important your time is. I, myself am guilty of scrolling down a social media newsfeed for hours rather than spending time reading The Word of God. This is a trap. We must remember that time is something that we can never ever get back.
So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of your time because the days are evil.
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
compromise OR NAH?
What if you have the opportunity to get ahead in life but you had to compromise your core beliefs? What if it would allow you to gain social status or wealth, would you take the opportunity? There may come a time in your life that you a presented with what seems to be the "chance of a lifetime"; although it is in direct violation of everything
that you stand for. That 'opportunity' may be cheating on your taxes, it may be taking a job that goes against your conscience or it could even be selling drugs to make more money in a day than some may in a year. Or perhaps when the moment comes it has nothing to even do with money. Whatever it may be will you take the chance?
Jesus was presented with the same situation...
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
1Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”
Now this must have been very hard for Jesus because He knew is mission on earth was to be king and reign. That is the opportunity that Satan is presenting him with. An opportunity that is much easier than being nailed to a cross. But we see that Jesus refused to take an easy way. He refused to be hoodwinked by the devil. He knew what God had planned for his life.
Or take Joseph for example. When Potiphar's wife was trying to convince Joseph to sleep with her.
Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7 and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”
8 But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” 10 And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.
For many people they would see this as an opportunity to possibly get ahead since she was a woman who held great power. Some may have allowed their lusts to persuade them. Joseph however was not controlled by his lusts nor social status but rather by the spirit of God.
He fled so fast that he left his robe behind. This is how we should be if any opportunity presents itself to us that isn't of God. We shouldn't ponder it and let our imaginations run wild with the idea of the potential possibilities for taking the opportunity.
Remember, if the devil offers you something it will only be something that he found in the trash can. Not everything is what it seems. While what God gives you is treasure.
The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22
In Superman there is a "Bizarro World". Everything there is opposite. I think the world that that we live in today can be compared to Bizarro World. What was once established as the "right way” to live is considered "wrong". To be conservative is now considered being a bigot. To support ideals such as, traditional marriage between a man and a woman or to be pro-life is frowned upon by the masses. However we should not expect anything less from the lost world that we live in.
As long as we are on this Earth we shall not be a people that confirms to the wickedness around us. I hate to break it to you but you are going to fall off the tightrope if you are trying to walk the tightrope of being a Christian and being politically correct.
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. -Galatians 1:10
We must have a voice in this world to help others see the sinful nature that they have fallen victim to. As Christ followers, we are called to be the light of the world. Every believer is important to show God's holiness in some way. All it takes is one light to light an entire room of darkness. We must not allow to world to bully us into believing what they believe. Stand firm on the word of God. And as you speak the word of God into other's lives, be sure to remember they are no different than you. Though someone's sin may be different, you were just as lost at one point.
There is a way that man says is right but leads to destruction. -Proverbs 14:12
WORTH MORE THAN SPARROWS
So many people are scared to come to God with all of their issues. The key word in that sentence is, 'all'. Many feel as though their problem is too big or too small for God to handle. But God is omnipotent, all powerful. He is able to take care of every single problem in your life. I like to think of God as being the best at multitasking the world has ever seen. While humans are only able to do a couple of things at a time he is able to control the seasons, keep the planets in their proper alignment, care for the animals all while tending to our every need.
Saying that your problem is too big for God is saying that your problem is bigger than God Almighty. When you say your problem is too small for Him you are putting God in a box saying that He can only handle "big problems". I have even heard people say that they don't want to waste God's time with small problems. It is impossible to waste God's time. I think we forget, God INVINTED time. He says that every hair on your head is numbered
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
God pays that much attention to the detail of your body, don't you think he would pay that much attention to your heart? Sometimes we as believers 'believe with our mouth' but not with our heart that God will fulfill promises and take care of us. However we must bring out heart and our mouths into alignment. We are able to trust God that He will be there for us in the future because He has already shown his faithfulness in the past.
Imagine someone that you know asks you for a glass of water; so you hand them one. There is only one problem, they just witnessed you spit in it. I don't know about you, but spit isn't one of my favorite ingredients. How do you think that person would react? Some may take it as a joke, some may get angry and throw it in your face. No one would drink from that cup unless they were on the verge of death.
Similarly, When we are supposed to help someone learn about Jesus and be a light in their life and they constantly see us in sin we are destroying our witness. How can that person that you are supposed to lead to knowing Christ take you seriously if they see you practicing the opposite of what you preach? It has been said that our lives may be the only Bible that someone ever gets to read.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3
Are there things that we are doing in your life that could be a stumbling block for other believers/converts? Perhaps there is something that you are doing that you may not look at as 'sin' but it can potentially hinder your influence. What are we ready to rid ourselves of to be more effective in Christ? Is God saying the things that you are watching on television? Or perhaps the things that you are listening to. You will have to search within your on heart and pray to find out what it may be.
Just remember the message that we are called to bring to people's lives can be a fresh cup of water, we must not taint it.
Don't Go "Kaboom"
When I was a kid there was a cartoon that came on television called, Animaniacs. The cartoon would consist of many other short cartoons; one of which was called "Katie Kaboom" Katie was a very pleasant teenage girl until...she didn't' get her way. Then she would turn into a gigantic, monster. She would verbally assault anyone who opposed her point of view. When she got her way she would usually shrink back down to her normal size and be pleasant again. However, the damage was done; the home was a wreck from her temper tantrum and loved ones were in left in complete shock and distress.
We can be like this at times. There are two types of aggressions that come to mind when one doesn't get their way. One being passive aggression which sometimes can be completely shutting down, and giving someone the silent treatment. The other can be exploding, which would be more like Katie Kaboom. Neither of these are healthy solutions.
When dealing with anger allow yourself to think the situation over in your mind. And really ask yourself, is this situation a Poodle or a Pitbull? Rather, is this problem that you are upset about as big as you make it seem? When you compare the problem that you are facing with all of the other problems in the world, poverty, war, disease. Ask yourself, does it compare? When I ask myself that question, it usually doesn't compare at all.
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20
An example of unrighteous anger would be you are jealous of someone getting the raise that you feel like you deserve or you begin to hate someone because they are dating the girl that you have a crush on. Don't get me wrong, there is a righteous anger as well. The Bible speaks on when Jesus was angry enough to make a whip and flip over tables..
When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me." John 2:13-16
So this is an example of righteous anger, Jesus was upset at something that didn't please his Father. There are things in this world that happened that do not please God that you have every right to be angry about. For example a spouse finds out that their spouse has committed adultery. They have every right to be upset. However, what does their anger lead to? Does it cause them to sin? Does it cause them to harm their spouse or the mistress? Or do they see it as an opportunity for God to move despite their anger?
"In your anger do not sin"
There are many people who have lost everything and even ended up dead or behind bars because they were not level headed and were steered by their emotional impulses. We must not fall into that category. This month I am trying to think rationally before reacting. How are you going to work on controlling your anger?
This is a month where many people are depressed for not having a person to be with. Valentine’s day highlights people who are in relationships, causing many to feel alone if they are single. Well I am here to tell you whether you have a significant other or not Christ said that you were so significant that he gave his life for you. It was the ultimate “Valentine’s day card” so to speak. His love is an agape love. One that was not dependent on how great or pleasant we were. Indeed, although we were a mess He still laid down his life for us. It is not because we were attractive. It was a pure sign of his sacrificial undeniable love. This is a love that I can’t even fully wrap my mind around. We must try to show this same love towards the ‘unlovable’. Those people who hurt us may be hurting more than we could imagine. And it is our responsibility to play cupid and deliver a message of love and introduce them to The One who will love them more than they know how to love themselves, The Christ. Besides, how can your truly say you love someone but don't tell them about the one way their soul can be saved?
Ephesians 2:4-5 - But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved.
This winter season can be a vivid image of the heart that has turned cold towards God. In the winter there is no growth in the garden. Rather bushes that once were decorated in beautiful leaves stand completely naked. The temperature is so cold that if you do not have proper shelter and clothing you could surely die. Hypothermia, phenomena, and frostbite go hand and hand with this season.
A life of a person who has hardened their heart towards God looks quite the same. A person who has the potential to bear so much good fruit in their life chooses not to. Instead they become spiritually sick or spiritually dead. They are void of the fire of God that can ignite their lives.
Typically. when your heart is cold towards God, the sin of the world does not bring you any discomfort. Rather you enjoy partaking in it. Believe it or not, this windchill can even come across believers from time to time. Why is that? I don't know...perhaps we like leaving the comfort of a warm room with a fireplace to stand barefoot in the snow; just to have to pound on the door and ask God to let us back in His comfortable home. When will we learn?
Hearts turn cold to God for many reasons to name a few
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:12
With New Year's right around the corner what a great opportunity to start our walks with a clean slate so to speak. Though Christ has already whipped the slate clean for us what better time to rededicate ourselves to Him? I’m not really big into New Years resolutions because they fall through by February (at least for me). If there are things that you regret in 2014 leave them in this year. Let’s not carry any of our addictions or strongholds into the new year. A New Year is an example of God’s grace and patience allowing us to turn over a new leaf as we turn to a new page in our calendars.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:18-19
I would like to encourage everyone to start a prayer Journal this year. In it write down all of your prayers and date them. Then at the end of the year you can look back and see all of the prayers that God answered in your life. When your Faith is feeling shaky you can look at all of the prayers that God answered.
Celebrate safe and sober! Have a blessed and Happy New Year!
What's your favorite food? Mine is Chinese Food personally. But if I had to eat it every day I would experience burn-out. I would no longer appreciate it Considering I was no longer eating it for my love for it, but rather because I had to eat it solely for survival. The flavor that once stimulated my taste buds would become bland. The aroma that would make my stomach growl would begin to repulse me.
Unfortunately, sometimes it can be like that with our relationship with God. We began to go through the motions. Our prayer life can become mundane, and shallow, boring. Going to church begins to no longer be about fellowship with other believers or worshiping God but doing it just because we feel like it is what we are supposed to do. Instead of our Bible capturing our minds with all of the adventures it becomes a pillow.
If you feel guilty know the disciples fell asleep right after Jesus told them to pray...
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face rand prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let s this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” 43 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Sleep and take your rest later on.2 See, the hour is at hand, and theSon of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.” Matthew 26:36-46
Another time Paul was preaching for so long someone got so bored and tired they fell out of a window and died, Paul then had to resurrect him.
On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. 8 There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. 9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted. - Acts 20: 7-12
Why is this? I personally being it is because we forget who God is. We also forget what He brought us from and where He wants to take us. If we really understood just how awesome God is then we would never take our relationship with Him for granted. We must remember that The Bible is a love letter from Him to us. Prayer is communication with the creator of the entire galaxy who cares about biggest needs and our smallest wants. Church is a family that is united through Him. When we remember these things then we will not have "well this is what I'm supposed to do" state of mind but rather, "this is what I want to do and love to do."
If God is infinite and his knowledge, ways, wisdom and love surpass human understanding then how can we truly be "bored" with him. We are much less complex than He is but God never says you know I'm bored with these Humans. No, he constantly pursues each of us with a passion. We must not fall into the trap of the enemy of thinking God is boring.
No friendship, marriage, or partnership will work out if you are just going through the motions. Become sick of going through the motions and look deeper into your heart and remember The God who saved you then respond to it. Let's make the decision to revive our relationship with God.
Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable- Psalms 145:3
During this time of year, we tend to see people wearing various masks. Some are wearing funny masks, others scary. Many people wear masks of recognizable characters. Many people even get into character and make believe they are the character they are portraying. However, this isn't the only time people wear masks. In fact, some of us wear masks year-round.
The 'mask' I'm referring to is typically a defense mechanism. Many wear one so those around will not see the real person beneath. Some wear a mask to fit in with people, trying to seek approval from their peers. They feel if they showed their true colors they wouldn't be accepted. Some even wear a mask to church on Sundays; pretending they have it all together. Posing like there is no sin in their life that needs addressing. They put on their 'Sunday's best' clothes and singing all of the worship songs but have not had a change of heart. They are simply trying to 'look the part.'
There is also a mask that hides behind the words, "I'm okay" and "I'm fine". When people ask how we are doing, sometimes we respond this way because it is easier than saying, "I'm stressed and depressed." .
No matter what your mask is, God hates it! God doesn't want our masks. He wants the true us. He wants us to be upfront and honest with Him. He doesn't want us to cover our blemishes with makeup before we come to Him. He doesn't want us to act like we have it all together. In fact, He knows we don't. He wants us to come bare before Him so that He can restore us. God want's you to be you. The Lord even wants to build you to be an even better you. He wants to break your mask so he can see your face. God doesn't want us to try to be something we're not to please other people. He wants us to please Him.
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.- Galatians 1:10
In what area's of your life have you wore a mask?
Ok, ok I admit it. I'm one of those people who goes to Costco and Sam's Club just to eat samples. I stand in small lines to eat samples of sandwiches or crackers and cheese. I even go back in the same line to get seconds. Why do I get back in the same line? Well...because I'm not full. That little taste has triggered me to want more and more.
Often as believers we can find ourselves in similar situations. Sometimes we 'treat' ourselves to little indulgences that our flesh loves but the Lord despises. Sometimes it can be watching something that we know can lead us to lust, knowing our flesh will not be satisfied. Other times it can be listening to a song one too many times that now it has you lusting after money or drugs.
I've heard it said before that our spirit man (that seeks to please God) and our flesh (that seeks to please ourselves) are like two dogs in a fight. Which ever you feed more will have more strength to win the fight. Whatever you see and listen to all day is going to be what you think about. Which ever dog you starve will die.
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6:23-24
How are we using our time? I know that I for one can be using mine's more productive for The Kingdom of God. How about you?
Some of you may have heard of the fighting game Mortal Kombat. In the game there is a character named Meilna. Upon first appearance she looks beautiful and seductive. However, after approachimg in her she reveals her true self. Underneath her mask she hides her identity as a hideous monster. Then ultimately she goes in for the kill with her "Kiss of Death" murdering her opponent.
In the same way the things of this world look very enticing upon first glance. However when we allow various vices of this world to captivate us we soon realize that we have just had tasted the sweet kiss of death. What once looked so appealing leaves us feeling empty inside. Sin promises the world, but never follows through.
Though the things in this world appeal to our five senses, we are to be led by our sixth sense so to speak. We are to be directed by the Holy Spirit. We must learn to trust and believe that what Jesus has promised us is more fulfilling than anything we seek outside of Him.
We must remeber that the Bible says that when the devil was in Heaven he was the most beautiful of all of God's creations. So why would his traps on this Earth be anything less than beautiful?
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14
Many times believers may love the thought of Jesus saving them but not the thought of being obedient to Him. At times Christians often play with fire, enjoying their sin and not letting go of it. Saying in their hearts, "Everything will be okay; Jesus did die on a cross for me!" Often using Jesus as a 'get out of Hell free card'
We must realize that Jesus died for our sins, NOT for us to sin. Though we may stumble in areas, we are not to live a defeated life, constantly falling into the same old temptations. Jesus died and rose to dwell within us and give us the power to resist temptation.
Many times people want all of the blessings without any of the required sacrifice. This doesn't only go for things that are apparent sin in our lives. If God is telling you to let go of a situation, an object, or a person and you are not obedient to what He says; it then becomes sin because you are not obeying God. He wants us to be willing to depart from anything to get closer to Him Jesus says
Matthew 10:39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
So I will end by asking this..do you only want Jesus as your Savior? Or do you also want Him as Lord of your life?
1 Corinthians 13:11-When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
Despite popular belief age is not always the determining factor of maturity. I have met 8 year olds who conduct themselves more appropriatly and more responsibly than some 50 year olds that I have met. Many of us act like children until we meet the Lord; sometimes we continue to act like children though we've already met the Lord.
However, The Lord will will groom us into the men and women that He has called us to be if we take heed to his instructions. He will mold each of us to be men and woman who take responsibility for our actions and who learn from our past shortcomings.
As the sand in life's hourglass falls; we must reflect on what we have learned. Have we continued to make the same mistakes? Are there certain aspecets of our lives that we should have taken care of long ago? We must be honest with ourselves if we ever intend on growing. It comes a time when we have to put habits, addictions and strongholds that haunt our present in the past. So they will not be waiting for us in our future.
If God is trying to show you an area of your life that you need to get control of don't ignore him. Irresponsibility will not mask as ignorance if indeed you know the truth. Be responsible and grow up even if you are already a grown up!!!

Ephesians 1:17-2117 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a]of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
This Scripture is loaded with tons of golden nuggets for our faith. In our faith we must seek to worship God in wisdom and in truth. What we learn about Him with our minds should change our hearts; ultimately this should bring us closer to Him. If we understood what God had in store for us and everything that He promises us we would count everything in this world as dust in comparison.
The new X-Men movie came out this month, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" This movie displays many characters with amazing powers. But what God promised to those who believe in Him is even greater!!! It is His power. Christ living inside of those who have accepted Him into their hearts. This is the same power that raised Him from the dead, and the same power that healed people supernaturally. How cool is that?
We live in a culture where everyone wants to be a "Boss" However God elevated Jesus to be the boss of all bosses and the King of all kings. And every boss, CEO, or ruler will bow at his feet and proclaim that he is the eternal ruler. Knowing this, how will you approach your month of July?
JOHN 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
This is the scripture that we base our entire label around. In fact, this is the statement that we base our entire lives around! Jesus makes a statement that shook the entire world to the core. This statement still shakes the foundations of the world.
By believing this, not only with our minds but with our hearts we can rest assured that loved ones who have believed upon Him will be seen again. We can walk boldly into areas that The Holy Spirit has led us with confidence knowing that if we are to leave this world there is life after death. What a glorious reason to fall deep in love with God. Jesus leaves us with a question, "Do YOU believe this?"
